For the classic vampire look, black, white and red will be your color palette. Ever since Bram Stoker's Dracula, vampires have been graceful and elegant, dressed like members of high society. Over your Victorian clothes, you'll need a vampire cape. But the secret to great vampire costumes is, of course, the makeup and accessories. Put gel in your hair, paint your face in shades of white and grey, add retractable fangs in your mouth and, mostly, make sure there's fake blood dripping from your mouth! For an even more unearthly look, add vampire contact lenses.
Sexy vampire costumes
Women may choose to inject a dose of sexiness to their vampire costumes because... they can. Lady vampires can wear corsets, red satin or black lace gloves, veils and fake nails. Chokers can be given to their "blood bags" to hide the bite marks. Yeah, we've been around!
Modern vampire costume
If the Victorian era is not your thing, perhaps your are more influenced by Anne Rice's books, the World of Darkness games and the gothic genre. Keep the face paint and the fangs but add a wig, wear your black jeans with a black leather jacket, necklaces, a skull bracelet or fingerless gloves. Ladies can swap the jeans for a ruffled skirt with fishnet tights.
